In La Jolla, Life’s a Beach

It took a recent Shutterstock survey published by Tripadvisor to announce to the rest of the world something La Jollans have known all along. For those Insiders who live in La Jolla, and for those who visit, the natural beauty of The Jewel’s front porch is intensely eye-popping, with most folks thinking that this place just has to be one of the most beautiful locales they’ve ever seen, its now been officially confirmed. If Tripadvisor, like the New York Times, puts anything in print, it must be true: “La Jolla Cove ranks No. 5 among 25 Best of the Best beaches nationwide.” Surprised? We aren’t. Here’s more of what they published:

LA JOLLA, CA — As summer approaches, beachgoers may want to travel near the coast to experience La Jolla’s nationally-ranked beach.

With its “blue-green waters” and its “dramatic cliffs,” the La Jolla Cove is deemed one of the best beaches nationwide by travel guidance platform Tripadvisor. La Jolla landed at No. 5 among 25 beaches.

Tripadvisor recently released its 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best winners, the highest honor in travel.

Tripadvisor adds, “It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone,”

The folks at Tripadvisor conclude “the setting of La Jolla makes way for surfing, swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding. The scenery lends itself to sightings of seals, sea lions and tidepools. Visitors can also stroll on the promenade under a colorful sunset.”

Oh, yes, one more Insiders benefit per Tripadvisor, “La Jolla Cove is stroller-friendly and has free parking.” And that’s the truth.
